Changes in calendars of the PGE Ekstraliga and Speedway Best Pairs caused that some of the riders will have a real „speedway marathon”. Two Australians – Max Fricke and Jason Doyle will make around… 250 laps in 3 days.

Originally, meeting in Gniezno was supposed to take place on May 2. Unfortunately, weather interfered the first round of PGE Ekstraliga and authorities made a decision to cancel three of four meetings planned on April 17. That means on first Tuesday of May, two matches will be held in Poland and second round of the Speedway Best Pairs will take place 2 days later than planned. Therefore, riders starting in the rivalry of the world’s top sponsor teams will have an extremely busy period.

Looking at the calendar, Jason Doyle will start his week on Saturday, when the first round of the Grand Prix series is held in Krsko. From there, Australian will move to Leszno to fight for league points for Falubaz Zielona Góra. Then, on May 2, his league team faces the crew from Grudziądz. On May 3, we will have the clash between Poland and Australia, where Doyle will be one of the Aussies’ leaders. Finally, on the fourth day of May, second round of the Speedway Best Pairs takes place at the Stadion Miejski in Gniezno. After this marathon, Jason will have a one-day break, but on the next weekend (May 6-7), he’ll have league matches in UK and Poland.

Here’s the calendar of Jasona Doyle’s starts between 29.04 and 07.05:

29.04 – First round of the Grand Prix series in Krsko (Slovenia)

30.04 – Third round of PGE Ekstraliga (Leszno)

01.05 – break

02.05 – First round of PGE Ekstraliga (Zielona Góra)

03.05 – Poland vs Australia (Kraków)

04.05 – Speedway Best Pairs (Gniezno)

05.05 – break

06.05 – SGB Premiership (Rye House)

07.05 – Fourth round of PGE Ekstraliga (Zielona Góra)

It’s all similar with the U21 World Champion – Max Fricke. Australian starts his „marathon” on Sunday from the match in Gorzów, where his ROW Rybnik faces local Stal. Then, Fricke will perform in postponed match of PGE Ekstraliga. May 3 is the Poland vs Australia clash, where rider from Mansfield is going to be one of the crucial elements of Australia’s roster. On May 4, Fricke will represent the Boll Team during the Speedway Best Pairs and one day later, again representing team from Rybnik.

Calendar of Max Fricke’s starts between 30.04 and 05.05.

30.04 – Third round of PGE Ekstraliga (Gorzów)

01.05 – break

02.05 – First round of PGE Ekstraliga (Częstochowa)

03.05 – Poland vs Australia (Kraków)

04.05 – Speedway Best Pairs (Gniezno)

05.05 – Fourth round of PGE Ekstraliga (Rybnik)
