Thanks to their win in the final round of Speedway Best Pairs 2017, Monster Energy Speedway Team jumped on the podium of this year's series. Chris Holder is the only Monster's rider, who appeared in all three rounds of the cycle.
Before the round in Gniezno, riders managed by Joe Parsons were ranked in 5th position overall. Because of Greg Hancock's and Paweł Przedpełski's injuries, team was joined by double world champion Tai Woffinden. Brit was phenomenal in Gniezno and gathered 19 out of 21 possible points points to score.
- Tai was in a very good form. It was a good meeting to test some new things, but he's always incredibly fast. He was on fire tonight and I was trying to get as many points as well. Our goal was to reach the final and then see what happens next. Final wasn't looking too good for us for a while, but we managed to get a win right in the end, so it was excellent - Chris Holder said.
For Monster Energy Speedway Team, Speedway Best Pairs 2017 was kind of a rollercoaster ride. After a good beginning in Toruń, where Parsons' riders managed to get the third position, a horrible performance came in Landshut and then at the end - a great win in Gniezno.
- We had a tough series this year. Greg Hancock started the series in Toruń and then me and Paweł Przedpełski racing in Landshut and finally me and Woffy tonight. That's why it's so good to finish it with a win.
"Chrispy" started in 19 heats and got three heat wins, was ranked in 2nd position 6 times, in 5 heats he came third and in the same amount of heats, he ended up as last.
Australian announces that in the next season, his team will fight for a higher position.
- I haven't been going so great this season, so it's been a battle, but we'll be back next year and looking to take a top step - Holder ended.
