German team Trans MF Pro Race Team will start in Speedway Best Pairs for the third time in a row. They haven't changed their basic roster and what's more, they strengthened significantly. Leon Madsen and Martin Smolinski will be joined by current Individual European Champion - Andzejs Lebedevs.
This year, Trans MF will be the only German team in the SBP series. Through last two years, they were 6th twice. However, in this season, their goals are way bigger. Trans MF is about to fight for podium at the end of the series.
- In the past, we were not able to present our whole potential, and more precisely - we couldn't set things in a way, this potential would be seen in all of the riders at one time. This is team series so the most important thing is that on the race day, everyone gives their best and cooperate. If we'll be able to do that, third place looks very real. Our equal roster for 2018 season can reach for it - Chairman of Trans MF company, Bernhard Muggenthaler.
In 2018 season, Trans MF Pro Race Team will be represented by three riders. Martin Smolinski and Leon Madsen were left in the roster, but they were joined by Speedway Euro Championship 2017 winner - Andzejs Lebedevs (Latvia). Looking at the paper, German team look very impressive. Lebedevs got his lifetime achievement by becoming the Individual European Champion and Leon Madsen had a tremendous season in Polish PGE Ekstraliga.
- Pointing our goals is important, byt they need to be realistic. If we'll be able to omit technical issues and everything will set well, podium is in the range of our possibilities during all of three rounds. Many people will not count us as the favourites, but that's in some way, our advantage. Everything must fit, though - motivation, engagement and team spirit. Then, success may come. As they say "heart wins over talent" - Muggenthaler adds.
This year's Speedway Best Pairs will be held on tracks in Toruń, Rzeszów and Landshut. Trans MF have been getting their best results on the German venue. What's interesting, tracks in Rzeszów and Landshut are very similar when it comes to geometry, their shape.
- In Toruń, it's always been hard for us. We've never managed to get over 5th position. Our riders put it as a matter of honour to prove they can beat this track. Rzeszów can be crucial, because it's the Andzejs Lebedevs' favourite track.
The biggest expectations, however, when it comes to Trans MF Pro Race Team will come in Landshut, where German team will be round's host.
- Of course, we have a strong motivation to compete in all of three rounds, but when it comes to the round in Landshut, where in fact, we're racing home, we need to be in TOP 3. That's what's expected from the whole area there and we're obliged to show what we're capable of. Leon and Andzejs have been racing for the German Champions - AC Landshut Devils for years and know every single part of this track. They both have been getting some great scores there. Naturally, we feel big pressure of expectations before our audience, but we do feel we're able to jump on the podium - Muggenthaler ended.
