Thanks to their win in the final round of the world's best sponsor teams, Monster Energy Speedway Team grabbed the third position in the overall classification of Speedway Best Pairs 2017. Huge credit goes to Tai Woffinden, who was simply phenomenal in Gniezno.
Before the final round of SBP 2017, Monster Energy Speedway Team were forced to find a rider, paired with Chris Holder. Greg Hancock and Paweł Przedpełski were withdrawn from the series, because of their injuries. The choice was obvious - it was the double world champion - Tai Woffinden, who got 19 out of 21 possible points in Gniezno.
- It was really good. I rode here couple of years back, I really enjoyed the time here, so it was good to be back. It's great when you see so many fans again to support you - Woffinden said.
Joe Parsons' team have a crazy season behind. After a good opening in Toruń, Monster Energy got the last position in Landshut to finally reach for a win at the end of Speedway Best Pairs 2017 in Gniezno.
- Boys did what they did in the first two rounds and it was nice to come back and bang some points and take a win of the night and third position overall. It was a good night for us.
Woffinden was included in the Monster's roster for the second time in SBP history, however during the final round of SBP 2016 in Ostrów Wielkopolski, Brit did not appear on the track. In Gniezno, Woffinden raced in all the heats, out of which, three ended with a double win of Parsons' riders. You could see it in the pits that Monster boys had a lot of joy of starting in the same team.
- I've known Chris for a long time, he's a great bloke, a great rider, I got a lot of respect for him. It was nice to ride with him. We grew up in Australia, so we've got this laidback attitude, so it was all about having fun. It was just great - Woffinden ended.
