Modernised Trans MF Pro Race Team didn’t manage to deal with the rivals during the first round of Speedway Best Pairs in Toruń. Martin Smolinski didn’t do well as a captain by finishing the meeting with only six points and Mark Riss had a chance to compete only in one heat, where he did not bring any points. Therefore, Trans MF decided to once again add Nicki Pedersen to their roster. Will this team perform better in Gniezno then?

German and Danish trio, in Toruń, did not manage to win any single heat and their top spot was Madsen’s in 18th and 21st heat. Plus, riders had three engine failures. Maybe it was caused by the early date of holding the first SBP round, when riders are still in the stage of first practices after a winter break. Equipment is still not tested and set and riders have to be back in shape after few months without racing. Second round of SBP, which will be held on May 2nd in Gniezno should however reveal a full potential of the Trans MF Pro Race Team, because riders will be already after their first league matches.

Most importantly, a huge support for the team comes with a comeback of three-time world champion and current European champion – Nicki Pedersen. He will replace Mark Riss, who didn’t handle the first round. On 40 years-old rider’s shoulders there will be laying a necessity of increasing current result of the Trans MF Pro Race Team, which should lead to their promotion in the overall classification. In this case, this Danish-German team can be hard to beat, once they’ll have two riders fighting in this year’s Speedway Euro Championship. Will the managers put their trust only on the duo Pedersen-Madsen, because of a poor score by Martin Smolinski? Fans in Gniezno can definitely expect some roster moves not only at the track, but also in the general classification.
