First round of this year’s Speedway Best Pairs series in Toruń brought a debut for the Eko-Dir Speedway Team. Fifth position gives no shame, however this young team is surely willing to reach for more, especially while looking at their strengthened roster for the second round in Gniezno.
This very young team, created by Vaclav Milik, Maksym Drabik and Szymon Woźniak is a breeze of a fresh air in the series. In Toruń, they were racing quite unequally, but brought a lot of emotions to the fans during the main series. Woźniak, however, thinks that his team is capable of reaching way more and to do it, they’ve got an ace in their sleeve.
- – This result from Toruń is not satisfying for us, but we definitely showed a great character. We won few heats and in fact, we were inches from the race-off. We’re so glad of hearing that Maciej Janowski has been going back on track. He’s a part of our team and his presence will help us to improve our result. In every round, we want to give our best and podium is definitely in the circle of our interest – says rider of the Eko-Dir Speedway Team, Szymon Woźniak.
His performance at Motoarena was quite a sine wave for the former rider of Polonia Bydgoszcz. He appeared thrice at the track and brought four points. The most succesful heat was no.6, when along with Maksym Drabik, they defeated 5:1 the Trans MF Pro Race Team. In the second part of the series, points were gathered only by Szymon’s teammates, who were a bit better on that day. In May, he’ll have a chance to improve, however track in Gniezno seems like a mystery for him.
- – I’ve heard that in the matter of surface, a lot has changed there, so I don’t want to say a lot, because there’s not much I know – Woźniak honestly admits.
For the young team, which Woźniak is representing or for Germans from the City Team, the Speedway Best Pairs series is giving big possibilities when it comes to present in front of a wider audience. Rookies are really impressed with the work that has been done before the start of this rivalry.
- – Organization is really impressive. Owners started this series with many issues around, but I think that these circumstances only caused that everything turned out even better than before – Woźniak ended.
Second round of the Speedway Best Pairs in Gniezno is planned on May 2nd and the biggest emotions and the great final comes on May 25th in German Landshut.
